Tonight my Mom, D and I went and took a CPR class. My Dad is in healthcare and has to always be certified so he didn’t need to go. It is something that I have been meaning to do for a long time now because I haven’t done it since high school health class and that was a looong time ago. It was a class at our local fire station and it covered everything that would have been covered if we were getting certification without being 8 hours long and really expensive. We covered both baby and adult CPR and learned how to use a defibrillator. I am really glad that we took it because I would have had no idea what to do in an emergency. Very scary! So now I have more of a clue. I am certainly not a pro, but I think I could help keep someone alive until help came. I would highly recommend that everyone who hasn’t already done it look into a refresher course in your area. It is well worth it!

icky needles

Today D and I went to the travel clinic to get our immunizations for our trip to Vietnam. I am not a big fan of needles and I usually get really bruised and sick everytime I get a shot so I was NOT looking forward to it. I am always the 1 out of 100 that has a bad reaction. ugh. We got the Hepatitus A/B combo, oral typhoid and a prescription for Malarone (for Malaria). I had already had my Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussus booster recently, and D got one from his doctor last week. It ended up not being too bad and now we are set. We have to go back for the second shot in the Hep A/B seried in a month. What fun! But hey, if it means that we can get P, I will do anything.

what I did last week

January 21, 2008

Last week my Mom and I decided to get our orphanage donation ready. We are bringing one or two BIG bags packed full of goodies for the orphanage. So far I have cool puffy stickers for the little boys, candy for everyone, crayons, coloring books, colored paper, pencils, fancy light-up kids toothbrushes, matchbox cars for all the boys, washcloths, tons of medicines, baby clothes and picture books about Colorado. We decided that wanted to make something else for the waiting babies. Since all of the pictures we have received of P are taken with her head on a little pillow, we thought we should make some new pillows for them. We made 18 in various sizes and they are really soft and completely washable. They are pretty light so they shouldn’t be hard to carry. I hope the little babies like them because we had a lot of fun making them!

If anyone has any other suggestions or wants to donate any new or barely used clothing size 0-9 months please let me know!
